a glass half empty or half full?

i think this is a simple question to see if a person carries optimistic perspectives or not.

since my childhood, i was taught there was never enough for everyone and i was never good enough according to my parents’ standards. among lots of things not enough, being a girl was not good enough; 95% of test scores on math was not good enough. and so i learned to look at my world bad enough.

the glass was always half empty to my parents. finally i was tired of trying to pleasing them. understanding and trying to break the “not-good-enough” belief took me a long time. be able to enjoy the half full glass of water now is great. it’s a great practice for me to look at things from different angles and so earn different perspectives. it’s still a good exercise for my mind everyday.

what’s your take on your glass of water?
